CIDOC 2011 - Knowledge management and museums
Sibiu, Romania September 4th – 9th 2011
Dr. Hans-Martin HINZ, the President of ICOM, will honour the Conference CIDOC 2011 with his participation.
The world of museum
documentation is continuously changing, so getting together to
network and exchange experiences is essential if you don’t want
to get left behind. A well established international event, the
annual CIDOC conference is the ideal place to keep in touch,
bringing together experienced professionals and newcomers for
six days of lively workshops, informative presentations,
fascinating study visits and productive working group meetings –
learning, sharing ideas and making contacts....
Nicholas Crofts, Chairman
Board of CIDOC
Opened to the public in 1817, the Brukenthal National Museum is
the oldest in Central and Southeastern Europe and the third set
on the continent.
Baron Samuel von
Brukenthal, the founder of the museum,
was governor of Transylvania between 1777 and 1787, and one of
the most complex and representative personalities of the
cultural and political life of this province. Educated in the
spirit of Enlightenment, the Baron shared the passion for
knowledge of his epoch ....
